Start with Heart
People, Passion, Purpose is the theme that is embedded throughout SuccessConnect this year from ensuring people recharge with the Well Being at Work centre to the insightful keynote sessions where business leaders shared their passion and purpose to envisioning the future of work.
SuccessConnect started with purpose with the President of SAP, Greg Tomb, setting the scene around what inspires him and gives him purpose.
“What drives you to do what you do?”
Within this day and age, we must continuously evolve, it’s what People are expecting and it starts with the solutions. Amy Wilson, Head of product introduced Digital Assistant. A Chat bot assistant that can be launched from desktop and mobile. The digital assistant will transform how employees interact with work and will be available to “switch on” from the admin centre later this year!
To continuously evolve companies must become more agile, this is also a key theme in how businesses are approaching performance management and being able to intercept problems before they occur, whilst creating new conversations with a broader picture, but it starts with an employee revolution, putting the future back in the hands of employees. Continuous Performance is the solution for this!
Throughout the day key business leaders were sharing their insights into getting the most out of your solution and your workforce. Think beyond HR, what is the overall experience for the employee? Create a simple and intuitive solution and don’t look for perfection, look for progression. Take time to put the employees perspective into the design, creating a human centric approach to the future of work! Start with Heart!
Day One ended with purpose with Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden, inspiring us all to turn customers into fans, they are the ones who will be using the system after all and whose lives it will be changing. Now onto the Berlin themed party!
Day two of the event brought life to HR with the inspirational key note session hosted by Stefan Ries the CHRO of SAP, with guests; Adriana Marais the Aspiring Extraterrestrial, Camilo Herrera and Laszlo Bock author of “Work Rules”.
Stefan brought back #HRPunks to inspire all of our inner punk to give work meaning and to disrupt those around us. He also introduced the concept that AI is humanity, allowing more time for creativity to truly bring life to HR and work, as after all, we spend more hours a day in work than we do with our friends, family and pets.
“Make work better through Science, Machine Learning and a little bit of love” HUMU
SuccessConnect ended on a high with the announcement that the 2019 Conference will be held in Vienna!
Auf Wiedersehen Berlin!
